September 22, 2006, Newsletter Issue #32: Furniture Basics

Tip of the Week

The most basic bedroom furniture essentials that your child will need include a bed with a good mattress, a nightstand, and a dresser or armoire for storing clothing.

We also recommend a hamper for laundry (if this isn't in your bathroom) and plenty of storage for toys, books and other items. If your child's room has the space, you may also want to consider a desk for their room.

Of course, just because you know the basics, doesn't mean you won't be completely overwhelmed at the selection of styles, options for configuration and materials from which you can choose. Don't be afraid to take you kid out to a few furniture stores to figure out what appeals to them before you make your final decisions.
