February 5, 2010, Newsletter Issue #112: Kid's Room Color Scheme

Tip of the Week

Color is very important in design and when decorating kid's rooms, you need to keep in mind the mood you want to create. A warmer color palette that includes reds, yellows, oranges, and pinks will create a more energetic feeling in a kid's room. A cooler color palette that includes blues, greens, and purples will inspire a calmer feeling.

If you choose a neutral color scheme with beige, tan, or grey, keep in mind that your accessories need some color to bring personality and life to the room. Avoid using too many colors at once. Three to four main colors in the bedding, wall paint, floor coverings, and accessories will unify the kid's room design.
